Oil Cleanup: Let's Try Science

So BP's criminally negligent oil spill is starting to destroy crucial wetlands. First, tally all the damage and bill the company in full. Next, consider that we have several proposals for addressing the damage, such as scooping up or burning off the oil, or just doing nothing. None of the options are very good; all of them are likely to cause damage. Hey, we have hundreds of miles of oil-soaked wetlands developing! Let's try dividing up the territory and applying a different technique to each section, leaving a sizable chunk as control. We could even turn this into a science fair ... got an idea for cleaning up oil? Come claim 10 miles of wetland and try it out! Keep records all along. (Bill BP for this also.) After 10 years, compare results to see which cleanup method(s) worked the best in terms of wildlife recovery within the zone so treated.
