This poem fills a square on my card for the
kink_bingo fest. This fest encourages people to push the limits of their comfort zone by creating erotica, pr0n, smut, and other sexy stuff in the many flavors of kinky, sensual, and otherwise exotic activities. I'm hoping to attract some new readers for my writing.
The following poem belongs to Schrodinger's Heroes, featuring an apocryphal television show supported by an imaginary fandom. It's science fiction about quantum physics and saving the world from alternate dimensions. It features a very mixed cast in terms of ethnicity and sexual orientation. This project developed with input from multiple people, and it's open for everyone to play in. You can read more about the background, the characters, and a bunch of assorted content on the menu page.
Fandoms: Original (Schrodinger's Heroes)
Kink: Breathplay
Medium: Poetry
Summary/Preview: Ash and Alex breathe together in the soft room.
Additional Information: Safe for work. Canonical asexual character (Ash). Alex's orientation is canonically vague, but in fanfic she is often written as asexual. Canonical woman of color (Ash). Trust and intimacy. Kissing. Altered state of consciousness.
"The Life of Breath"
Ash and Alex meet in the soft room.
Velveteen cushions cover much of the floor,
and a mosquito net of ivory nylon
forms a filmy tent in one corner.
Incense fills the air with fragrant smoke
that drapes over itself like blue scarves.
They each choose a cushion
and then sit facing each other,
folding their legs into the lotus position.
There is no hurry here,
no press for time.
They wait for their bodies to slow,
beginning to relax and unwind.
Each heartbeat is the inward tap of a drum,
each breath a light whisper of breeze.
They focus on their breathing,
slower and deeper,
gradually moving
into harmony.
Then they switch,
inhale matching to exhale,
exhale matching to inhale.
They lean forward,
mouth to mouth,
lips sealing together.
Alex breathes in
as Ash breathes out.
They hold for a moment.
Alex breathes out
as Ash breathes in.
They keep this breath between them,
pulling all the life from it that they can,
until they begin to grow dizzy.
They lean back,
breathing alone for a minute,
drawing sustenance from the solitary air.
Then they kiss again,
sharing one air together,
sustaining each other.
Alex breathes out
as Ash breathes in.
They hold for a moment.
Alex breathes in
as Ash breathes out.
They pass it back and forth,
encompassing and keeping it for
the life of breath.
Then they move away,
sighing, separating,
letting the space
between them breathe again.
They take turns,
Alex penetrating Ash,
Ash enclosing Alex,
and then the other
way around.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Be one
within the other.
They go on like this
for long minutes,
low langorous breaths
stretched out and around.
Each breath twists on itself
looping like a Möbius strip,
cut into two linked rings.
Ash and Alex
work through dizziness
until they are
falling, flying
floating weightless
beyond body or earth.
There is only
the sound
of breathing,
soft stir of
air over earth,
universe
expanding and
contracting.
Alex and Ash
touch souls,
intimacy
deeper than
flesh.
They lie back
on their cushions.
It takes them
a long time
to come down.
