This steampunk Tarot deck in progress has elegant, stylized artwork and creative interpretations. I'm dubious about the Hanged Man being head-up though.
Mind if I signal boost to the original post, or would you rather I boost it to yours? I've got a couple steampunk fans amongst my friends who'd drool over that.
Just link to the original; there's no point making people hopscotch through extra posts. If you like, you can include a "link courtesy of" line pointing back to my LJ.
Interesting! I'd be OK with the Hanged Man being upright but I'm not actually sure about the "robot factory" concept (cool as it looks). Maybe if it was a robot repair shop... I guess "waiting" is pretty central to my conception of the Hanged Man, and that robot just looks like he doesn't actually exist yet.
I love Flying Time, and the Inventor for Strength is very interesting. I would think Inventor would map better to Magician but maybe they have something even more appropriate for the Magician.
I'm intrigued by the Flying Tower, too--it doesn't match my usual dramatic conception of the Tower, but it has those nice cracks getting ready to tear it apart...
Clearly the cards in that post get under my skin somehow! I'll probably have to buy that deck when it's available!
Oh... the Magician is on the artist's deviantart page. It's the Ringmaster. I have to love that.

Different people have different things that they consider essential to the core energy of a card. For me, the upside-down aspect of the Hanged Man means that it's a card that can never be wholly upright or reversed; both energies are always in play. You have to take a backwards-forwards approach to interpreting it. So if he's head-up, that card isn't going to do the job I need it to do.

For human-caused mayhem, it's hard to beat a flying Tower that can crash.
