These are active communities in Dreamwidth from Summer 2024. They include things I've posted, but only the active ones; the thematic posts also list dormant communities of interest. This list includes some communities that I've found and saved but haven't made it into thematic posts yet. This post covers A-I.

Highly active with multiple posts per day, daily posts, or too many to count easily
Active with (one, multiple, many) posts in (current or recent month)
Somewhat active (latest post within current year, not in last month or few)
Low traffic (latest post in previous year)
Dormant (latest post before previous year, but could be revived because membership is open and posting is open to all members or anyone)
Dead (not listed because there are no recent posts, plus membership and/or posting are moderated)
Note that some communities are only active during a limited time, or only have gather posts on a certain schedule.

Birdfeeding

Today is sunny and mild. 

I fed the birds.  I've seen a flock of house finches and a squirrel leaping around in the trees.

I put out water for the birds and watered a few plants.

EDIT 8/23/24 -- I pulled weeds along the south side of the house.

EDIT 8/23/24 -- I started trimming weeds under the fly-through feeder.

EDIT 8/23/24 -- I trimmed more weeds under the fly-through feeder.

EDIT 8/23/24 -- I did a bit of work around the patio.

EDIT 8/23/24 -- I watered the patio plants, picnic table, and septic garden.

EDIT 8/23/24 -- I watered the seedlings in the savanna, telephone pole garden, and grass patch.

Cicadas and crickets are singing.

I've seen a bat swooping over the savanna.

As it is now dark, I am done for the night.

Today's Adventures

Today we went up to Amish territory.  It's a beautiful summer day, sunny and mild.  :D  Everyone's flowers are blooming.

We started at Vita's with shrimp tacos for lunch.  <3

At the salvage store we picked up a yellow squash to make yellow squash bread.  We also found a package off 5 slices seeded sourdough bread, which we plan to use for grilled cheese, and a few bananas.

We got honey, strawberries, and a blackberry pie at Beachy's.

At Sunnycrest I picked out several peaches, and I found a bag of shredded carrots that I have popped in the freezer for when a recipe needs just a few bits of carrot.  We got ice cream too.  My partner Doug chose Monkey Tracks (banana ice cream with fudge swirl and tiny peanut butter cups) while I got Rocky Road (chocolate with marshmallow cream and almond bits).  Plus a bag of Just the Best Part hazelnut ice cream cone tips.

We stopped at Tools Plus so Doug could pick up the impact wrench and spare battery that he's been wanting.

It has been quite a successful trip.  \o/
