People have expressed interest in deep topics, so this list focuses on philosophical questions.

Your perception of the world is just what your brain constructs for you from the signals sent by your senses. Plus, there is a slight delay, so you aren’t even experiencing the simulation in real time. What would it be like if humans could perceive what the world is actually like and do it in real time? Also, what are the ramifications of every single person’s reality being a little different and unique to them?

This poem is spillover from the March 19, 2024 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired by a prompt from [personal profile] chanter1944. It also fills the "Yarn" square in my 3-1-24 card for the National Crafting Month Bingo fest. This poem has been sponsored by Anthony Barrette. It belongs to An Army of One series. It follows "Different, Not Less" so read that first and this will make more sense.

Today is sunny, steamy, and hot.

I haven't fed the birds yet.

My partner Doug mowed part of the lawn, and we walked around to see the mowed places.

I fed the birds.  I've seen a flock of house finches and a fox squirrel.

I put out water for the birds and watered a few plants.

EDIT 7/13/24 -- We measured spaces outside looking for where to put a shed.

EDIT 7/13/24 -- We went into town for more research, and now it's getting dark.

Today we started out trying to measure possible places to put a garden shed.  Then we decided to go into town for more information.

We got lunch from McHugh's including the banana cream milkshake that we wanted to try.  Eh, it's okay, but it tastes much more like banana taffy than actual banana.

We found more information on the sheds.  We grabbed another flyer for the specific one we want, and measured its doorway and ramp.

Then we stopped at Rural King, only to find out they were out of the picnic tables.  We did find a decorative wagonwheel though, so that's nice.  They said that the other Rural King had more picnic tables.

I wanted to check the sporting goods store for socks, which I did find more of.  I spotted a pair of shoes for my partner Doug, which we picked up.  He found a chair too, but we left that for later because there wouldn't be enough room in the car.

When we checked the second Rural King, though, we found that all the picnic tables were already assembled and thus taking up a great deal more space.  *headdesk*  So now we have to figure out how to transport something that is 1) much bigger and 2) has to be lifted all at once rather than in smaller pieces.  We have some ideas, it's just a pain in the ass.

On the whole, a productive day if somewhat frustrating in places.

Sex educator Dr. Ruth has passed away.

Everybody say "penis," "vagina," and "condom" -- because we can and they are not dirty words.
