A friend mentioned having a shady deck, and I looked up landraces for that context.

Birdfeeding

Today is partly cloudy and mild.

I fed the birds.  I've seen a flock of sparrows, a flock of mourning doves, a female downy woodpecker, and a fox squirrel.

I put out water for the birds.

EDIT 2/26/23 -- I took a few pictures of flowers in the yard.

I started raking leaves off the tulip bed.

EDIT 2/26/23 -- I raked up more leaves.  I've been putting them around the oak seedlings, which like a leaf mulch.

EDIT 2/26/23 -- I finished raking leaves off the tulip bed, at least the first pass.  I'll need to go back over it with a hand fork later.  For now, the tulip and peony shoots are exposed to the sun.

EDIT 2/26/23 -- I picked up a trolley of sticks to dump on the firepit.
