Neuroscience for Storytelling
Nov. 15th, 2022 04:39 amThese all work. They also play into why hurt/comfort works.
Study brains. They help you write better.
... why is there no class on Neuroscience for Storytelling? Because unlike most of the writing classes I ever took, that would've been really useful. Well, before I figured it out on my own. Not counting my mother reading me The Hobbit when I was four.

Description: If you enjoy writing fanfic and prompts using more complex vocabulary words, this is the place! Every Friday I'll post a word. Participants can fill the prompts in two ways: 1. Write a drabble or fic of 50-1,000 words and post it to the community. 2. Comment on the prompt post itself with one sentence using the word/s in the fandom/s of your choice. Words will be college and post-college level, useful (nothing too obscure or ancient). Low pressure, no deadlines. Participate via sentences, fics, or both. Writers who complete five prompt fics get an author tag. We've currently got 150 fanfics in 55 fandoms, from short 100 word drabbles to 1,000-word fics. All genres. Something for everyone, with a variety of old and new, TV/movies/books/video game fandoms.
Come check us out!
Dates: Ongoing, no deadlines

Birdfeeding
Nov. 15th, 2022 04:48 pmToday is cloudy and cool.
It snowed a little last night. The last of the marigolds have given up the ghost. The parsley is still alive, though. I'm not sure about the leeks.
I fed the birds. I've seen a flock of goldfinches, several house finches and sparrows, and a pair of cardinals.
I put out water for the birds.
