Poem: "Plants and Animals in All Their Functions"

This poem came out of the October 4, 2022 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired by Elijah of the_broken_tower and sponsored by Connor of the_broken_tower.  It also fills the "Alone in the Woods" square in my 10-1-22 card for the Fall Festival Bingo.

Moment of Silence: Angela Lansbury

Actress Angela Lansbury has passed away. Among many other achievements, she was the star of the TV show Murder, She Wrote. I really enjoyed the cozy mood and the local color in that show. It's also one of the few that doesn't harp on romance at the expense of plot. Instead of talking about men, the women usually talked about either crimesolving or local-color topics.

Birdfeeding

Today is cloudy and mild. It rained some early this morning.

I fed the birds. I've seen a flock of house finches.

DART Mission Success

The DART Mission successfully changed the orbit of the asteroid by more than anticipated.  \o/ 

Hopefully this will inspire more funding to track Near Earth Orbit objects and develop means of deflecting them if necessary.  We need to get the Umbrella up.
