These are some space missions in 2022 that you can look forward to.  :D  I'm particularly jazzed about the heavies, because colony plans require a LOT of raw materials.

This article looks at immigrants as job creators.

I'll give you another reason that fits both immigrants and refugees: survival of the fittest.  These are people who left a marginally okay to downright dangerous situation in search of better opportunities elsewhere.  Earth has a LOT of displaced people, voluntary and involuntary.  Many of those don't make it very far before getting stuck in a camp where work is banned or getting sunk by somebody's navy who doesn't want them landing.  So the ones who make it to far-flung destinations like America tend to be the most persistent and capable ... or the luckiest, which also bodes well in entrepreneurship.

A smart country would be taking advantage of that and engaging their skills as fast as possible.  Local-America is not that smart.  Terramagne-America is a lot smarter (mostly) hence the Rutledge thread of Polychrome Heroics.

I'm pleased to see someone recognizing hyperfocus as a genius trait

Other common traits: insatiable curiosity, a tendency to leap from A to Q, and the ability to hit a target nobody else can even see.

FANDOM SNOWFLAKE CHALLENGE #6

In your own space, Create something. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

This is all about unleashing your creative side. Work on that fan story/art/vid/meta/whatever else you can think of. Have something original you’ve wanted to noodle with? Go for it.

But it doesn’t have to just be the written word or a drawing. Creativity is much more inclusive. I enjoy making jewelry. Maybe you are into yarn/thread/fabric. Compose music? Create recipes? Planning your garden for this year?

Today is clear and cold with a brisk sharp wind.

I fed the birds.  I've see a flock of sparrows, a couple of mourning doves, a pair of cardinals, and a fox squirrel.

We're making an Apple Pie Cake.  This is what Doug wanted for his birthday cake.  The active time is listed as 1 hour.  That is overly optimistic.  We've been working on this thing for half the day.

We got the cutouts done.  They turned out well.  I have a bunch of very strong cinnamon sugar left.  Since we also have lots of buttermilk left, I make a batch of cinnamon buttermilk biscuits.  I forgot that, while we have cookie cutters, we haven't used them in so long that I didn't know where they were.  I found a tiny lion one on the windowsill, so that's what the cutouts are.  LOL

The cake itself is in the oven.  After it's out and cooled, we have the fancy-dancy icing to make.

EDIT 1/11/22 -- The cutouts were a success, and a technique I may use again.  The cake was okay, though not worth the effort put into it.  The icing was not a success, and we really don't want to hack around with egg white icing again, or anything else that involves attempting to beat egg whites after other things have been added to them.

If you're not making any mistakes, you're not learning, you're coasting.
