Poetry in Microfunding:

There are two open epics at present.

"Rainshadow Road" belongs the Daughters of the Apocalypse series. It has 2 new verses, discussing herbalism.

"A Celebration and a Consolation" belongs to Polychrome Heroics. Keira comforts her mother after the breakup.


The weather has been cooler and wetter.  We got some rain.  Seen at the birdfeeders this week: a flock of house finches, a flock of mourning doves, a pair of cardinals, and a squirrel. Currently blooming: purple coneflower, morning glories, nasturtium, cup plant, black-eyed Susan, Queen Anne's lace, petunia, zinnias, marigolds, spiderwort, cypress vine, sedum, some yellow thing amidst the big bluestem.

Indian Lamb Seasoning

Today I'm making rotisserie leg of lamb. Later we plan to chop up the leftovers and mix them with Patak's Roghan Josh curry sauce. So I looked up a recipe for Roghan Josh seasoning, on the assumption that such would work well with the sauce later. As the original is 1) rather spicy and 2) way more than I needed, I dropped the Kashmiri chilies (which we don't have anyhow), added a bit of onion powder, rearranged the proportions to my liking, and used amounts suitable to make enough masala to cover one leg of lamb.

Birdfeeding

Today is mostly sunny and milid.

I fed the birds.  House finches have been swarming the feeder, and I saw a squirrel.

I picked up cut brush and moved it to the mulch pile or firepit.  Cut weeds went on the grass wall. 

Yesterday I ordered fall bulbs, and my parents got me some too.  So those should arrive sometime late September through October.
