Poem: "La grande guerra"

This poem came out of the March 2, 2021 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired by prompts from ng_moonmoth and dialecticdreamer. Poem: "The Hobbomak"

This poem came out of the March 2, 2021 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired by a prompt from Dreamwidth users Kengr, Readera, Wyld_dandelyon, ng_moonmoth, and Anonymous.  It also fills the "Forsythia - Anticipation" square in my 2-1-21 "The Language of Flowers" card for the Valentines Bingo fest.  This poem introduces a new series, The Bear Tunnels.

Since I reached the cutoff for the bonus story on Sunday, I need to finish cleaning up the bonus story and post it. As a result, I’m thinking that the next bonus story should be another 7500-8000 words in the same universe, called Aether Rose. It’s steampunk, but not at all like the Voices of the Engines.

Last week's Poetry Fishbowl went well. I started two new series: Alternate Artists as Warmongers and The Bear Tunnels. I am currently working on research to destroy Europe so the Americas can colonize it. Since Coyote and Crow just used a comet (which I presume hit Europe, although it doesn't say) and I've done that one previously myself, I've decided to use volcanoes and earthquakes. (Yes, I've damaged or destroyed Europe often enough that I have to stop and think which method best fits my needs this time. Whee!) I still have some sponsored stuff from my parents to post, but I'm trying to finish the writing.

"The Hobbomak" launches the Bear Tunnels series. Emma and Jesse discover an unusual chamber underground.

"A Celebration and a Consolation" belongs to Polychrome Heroics. Keira's father dumps her mother on Yule.

"The Best Understanding of Their Differences" belongs to Polychrome Heroics: Calliope and has 3 new verses. Calliope and Vagary consider the aftermath of the bubble fight.


The weather has been mostly mild here. The ground is still muddy. I've been doing advance yardwork. Seen at the birdfeeders this week: a large flock of sparrows, a flock of mourning doves, several cardinals, a few dark-eyed juncos, a Bewick's wren, a downy woodpecker, and two squirrels (one of them Bob, one not).

Today is partly cloudy and mild.

I fed the birds.  I've seen a few sparrows and a squirrel today.

I hauled 3 buckets of mulch to put under the maple by the south lot.  That ring is now complete.  \o/
