Good news includes all the things which make us happy or otherwise feel good. It can be personal or public. We never know when something wonderful will happen, and when it does, most people want to share it with someone. It's disappointing when nobody is there to appreciate it. Happily, blogging allows us to share our joys and pat each other on the back.

What good news have you had recently? Are you anticipating any more? Have you found a cute picture or a video that makes you smile? Is there anything your online friends could do to make your life a little happier?

Challenge #14

In your own space, remix an existing work into a new media, and/or rec three or more remixes that do the same. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Suggestions: a vid based on a fic, a playlist based on a character meta, icons based a playlist, podfic or podcast versions of meta posts, audio dramas of tumblr debates, art of audio dramas, fic based on art. Remix a project someone else did (check out the FPS lists for permission statements), remix your own work, do something new!

(And) or do a rec list including the original and the transformative work, and consider including why you like the change in media.

If you have time, please consider including descriptions of the visual elements, and transcripts of the audio elements, to help out our fellow fans who need such things.

Snow

It's snowing today, fine light flakes dust-drifting down.  Every charcoal branch is limned in white.  Very beautiful.

The birds are out, mostly sparrows and cardinals, probably because it's easier to eat from the feeders than to forage when everything is buried under at least an inch of snow. :D

It's still gray and snowy. The accumulation is up to about 2 inches on the ground.

I fed the birds.  Instead of the usual 1 scoop, I went back and refilled it, so they got 2 scoops.  The hopper feeder is full, I put some on the metal feeder and the ground, plus the fly-through feeder.

On the way to the fly-through feeder, I saw rabbit tracks at full speed.  They were so far apart that I couldn't match them with my stride.  I estimate the maximum distance between impressions at around 5-6 feet.  Daaamn.

Today I've seen several cardinals, a small flock of sparrows, and a small flock of dark-eyed juncos.  :D

My partner Doug was exploring his new television today and I happened to glimpse a cartoon, Molly of Denali.  It took some hunting but he managed to track down some episodes for me.  This is the first nationally distributed children's show with a Native Alaskan character.  (I've only found one other at all, Kagagi: The Raven, which is out of Canada and I've only found the first episode viewable online from here.)  Molly of Denali is beautiful and occasionally heartbreaking, as it deals with Native Alaskan culture.  But the characters are all likeable, the relationships are all healthy, the art is gorgeous, and the music is exciting.  It's such a delight to watch wild free children running around doing things, solving challenges, and making discoveries.  :D  Most highly recommended.
