Birdfeeding
May. 26th, 2020 04:24 pmI fed the birds.
My bergamot is blooming in the strip garden, a pale lavender. :D
EDIT 5/26/20 -- We picked up sticks in the yard by the house, barely clearing a fraction of it. :/
EDIT 5/26/20 -- I went back out and picked up another trolley full of sticks along the driveway.
As it is now dark, I am done for the night.

May. 26th, 2020 05:11 pmThis is an advance announcement for the Tuesday, June 2, 2020 Poetry Fishbowl. This time the theme will be "Quiet Revolutions." I'll be soliciting ideas for revolutionaries, rebels, tyrants, saboteurs, resistance cells, social engineers, leaders, followers, equals, young elders, ethicists, activists, charismatic people, superheroes, supervillains, outcasts, loners, conscientious objectors, other people who upset applecarts, rebelling, undermining, infiltrating, spying, deceiving, social engineering, working on the car together, making changes, leading, following, cooperating, negotiating, mediating, bartering, speaking, listening, reading, writing, taking over in an emergency, discovering yourself, testing boundaries, creating connections, coming of age, learning what you can (and can't) do, shocking people, upsetting the status quo, changing the world, accomplishing the impossible, recovering from setbacks, returning home, rebel bases, meeting halls, capitals, cities, government offices, back rooms, palaces, schools, wilderness, rural areas, farms, supervillain lairs, alien planets, fantasy worlds, other places of rebellion, sedition, civil unrest, sea change, "A Pict Song," teamwork, teamfamily, complementary strengths and weaknesses, dominance fights, leadership, followship, etiquette, bigotry, confusion, independence, cooperation, virtues, values conflict, loyalty, betrayal, alienation, rebellion, the heroic journey, personal growth, imprint vulnerability, rites of passage, and poetic forms in particular.
Among my more relevant series for the main theme:
An Army of One places the Lacuna between the Galactic Arms.
Arts and Crafts America made a lot of subtle changes.
Frankenstein's Family shows what happens when the scientists teach the villagers.
Kung Fu Robots prefer to minimize violence in conflicts.
The Ocracies is about all different types of government.
One God's Story of Mid-Life Crisis features the God of Drunks and his followers.
Polychrome Heroics has many different organizations and groups, and quite a lot of subversive activity. In particular, check out the Maldives adopting soups, the Iron Horses on indigenous politics, and Soup to Nuts' harm reduction through befriending supervillains.
Seeing Hearts is all about upsetting expectations.
The Steamsmith engineers a lot of changes.
The Time Towers is about subtle alterations or examinations of history.
Or you can ask for something new.
I have a linkback poem, "Everything That Blooms" (12 verses, Arts and Crafts America).
If you're interested, mark the date on your calendar, and please hold actual prompts until the "Poetry Fishbowl Open" post next week. (If you're not available that day, or you live in a time zone that makes it hard to reach me, you can leave advance prompts. I am now.) Meanwhile, if you want to help with promotion, please feel free to link back here or repost this on your blog.
