When you are learning a new medium, I highly recommend just playing around with it. Here are some really cool ways to modify watercolor:

Useful in any visual art medium, experiment with thumbnails to test different color combinations before doing a bigger picture. These can be fun and relaxing to do because you're just exploring -- there's no need to worry about details.

"Molly Finn"
-- a Balliol rhyme

[Tuesday, March 3, 2015]

I'm the oldest. My name's Molly.
Arguing with me is folly.
I ride a bus that's loud and fleet
To scrape dumb people off the street.

* * *

Notes:

A Balliol rhyme describes a person in four lines, each with four beats, arranged into two rhyming couplets.

"One of Those Questions You Just Don't Ask"
-- a limerick

[Saturday, March 14, 2015]

There was a young woman named Mallory
Asked about supervillain salary --
In response to this farce
She uncovered her arse,
And mooned all the folks in the gallery.

* * *

Notes:

The limerick is a humorous poem of five lines, rhyming aabba.

Salary is on the list of rude questions not to ask.

PLUMERE
-- an acrostic

Plumere, God of Knowledge,
Lead us on the path of enlightenment.
Under your wise guidance we grow,
Master of Mind and of Memory.
Every fact and fiction is in your grasp,
Rare or common, for which our thanks.
Every spark of our souls is known to you.

* * *

Notes:

Plumere, God of Knowledge was introduced in "Patches."

The acrostic form involves spelling a word or phrase down the margin of the poem, typically using the first letter of each line.
