Based on an audience poll, I have updated both open epics.

"Everyone Can Dance" has 23 new verses.  Shiv shows Tolli his new bodymod.

"What Survives the Whole Process" has 13 new verses.  Penny releases a playtesting video.

Good News

I've been busy for days and am now running behind. I'm only most of the way done with notes for today's half-price poetry sale. The sink sprang a leak last night so we have a plumber coming over soon. Plus houseguests and cooking and what-all else. I will get the sale up as soon as I can. Sorry for running late. It does not help that I overslept because my body decided to catch up on sleep debt from Saturday's trip to the farmer's market. :/

Poetry in Microfunding:

There are two open epics.

"Everyone Can Dance" belongs to Polychrome Heroics: Shiv and has 23 new verses. Shiv shows Tolli his new bodymod.

"What Survives the Whole Process" belongs to Polychrome Heroics: Fortressa and has 13 new verses. Penny releases a playtesting video.

We finally got a good rainstorm!  \o/  Seen at the birdfeeders this week: a small flock of mourning doves, several house finches, several sparrows, and a male cardinal. Currently blooming: violas, petunias, pinks, marigolds, lantana, torenia, million bells, moss rose, firecracker plant, salvia, nasturtiums, gaillardia, clover, morning glories, butterfly weed, cup plant, yellow coneflower, gladioli, red yarrow, coreopsis, Queen Anne's lace, thistle, naked lady lilies, sunflowers, and a bunch of other things. Crabapples and apples have green fruit.

This week, the poetry of Polychrome Heroics is on sale for half price from Monday, August 19 through Sunday, August 25. This series is superhero fantasy. It features themes of heroism, coming of age, diversity, identity kink, family of choice, friendship, and cultural engineering. Sale prices range from $10 to $283, so hopefully there will be something for everyone.

Prices on open epics are locked at the time of opening; however, if anyone wants to donate to open epics and buy poetry, spending $100 will get you the quarter-price rate on the new poems, regardless of the rate on the open epic(s) you support. There are currently 2 open epics, so there's room to open another.
"Everyone Can Dance" belongs to Polychrome Heroics: Shiv and needs $193.50 to be complete.
"What Survives the Whole Process" belongs to Polychrome Heroics: Fortressa and needs $113 to be complete.

We are repeating the special discount for purchases of $100 or more, in which you get poetry at 25% of its original price instead of 50%. (Note that this increases the amount of poetry you get, rather than reducing the amount of money spent; the point is to get this stuff off of my desk. Yes, I can afford it.) That size of donation also makes you a k-fan which comes with some other perks, like a year-end collection of a poetic series. If several folks want to bundle their orders to make the $100 threshold and have one person send it all, that's okay; you'll get the discount and I'll list all your names as donors, but you'll have to decide amongst you who gets the k-fan credit. If you host a pool, please close it the day before the sale closes, so you have time to collect funds and turn them in on time.

Some of the poems are in sequence of related action, so in places there are prerequisites before a poem can be published. They can be sponsored at any time, just might have to wait for publication until something else gets posted first. Those are marked accordingly. I have also made lists of poems which unlock sequels, and poems which have prerequisites.

[personal profile] fuzzyred is hosting a pool for the half-price sale in Polychrome Heroics. If you want to join the pool, please comment on that post to coordinate efforts. Items of interest include:

First up is "A Gravel and Cream Sandwich", quarter price=$63.75. This leaves me roughly 60 dollars to chip in for things that you guys might want but can't fully afford, which is the main point of a pool. The other poems I would like to purchase are in the Berretaflies thread; "Shattered by the Truth" and "The Bravest and Most Lucid Thing", combined they are $61 at quarter price.

Other interests for me are Aquariana, Broken Angels and Shiv. Feel free to suggest any poem you like and I'll certainly consider it.

For reference, "A Gravel and Cream Sandwich" is Shiv's perspective of the power clash between him and Aidan, written first, and then [personal profile] dialecticdreamer wrote followups from Aidan's perspective.  You can already read "Falling Gravel" and "Filtering Gravel."

Today was muggy and warm.  I picked herbs for supper.

Today we made East Indian Yogurt Chicken and American Indian Three Sisters Succotash.  (Technically, my partner Doug did 95% of the work this time, as I was posting the half-price sale.)  We will definitely do this again -- they work great together.  :D
