This poem is spillover from the March 6, 2018 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired by a prompt from
pantha. It also fills the "peacemaking" square in
my 2-28-18 card for the Slice-of-Life Bingo fest. This poem has been sponsored by the pool run by
ng_moonmoth. It belongs to the
Shiv thread of the
Polychrome Heroics series. It immediately follows "
Something Dark in Me," so read that first or this will make no sense.
Warning: This poem contains intense and upsetting scenes. Highlight to read the warnings, some of which are spoilers.
It includes the aftermath of a kink scene gone wrong, a worried phone call, some very difficult boundary issues, discussions of nonsexual kinky activities, worrisome nonverbal behavior, Gray has a massive case of top guilt, age regression, thumb sucking, vulnerability, smoking for rescue purposes, Shiv is alarmed and pissed off to wake up mostly undressed under a sheet with Gray and Dr. G in his apartment, symptoms of past abuse, vulgar and hostile language, rejection, misery all around, and other angst. This poem may pose particular challenges for abuse survivors, people with boundary issues, kinky folks, and anyone who's had a difficult time with therapists. If these are touchy topics for you, please consider your tastes and headspace before moving onward.
