On Wall Street, "obstructing governmental administration" ...? Okay, that's official evidence of fascism, the political system of corporate government. Nevermind those pesky historic references to "the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."
80 protestors were arrested yesterday in conjunction with the ongoing occupation of Wall Street. The majority of the arrests, which were for disorderly conduct, obstructing governmental administration, blocking vehicular traffic, and one assault on a police officer, occurred around Union Square yesterday afternoon after nearly a thousand demonstrators marched down Broadway. Videos show NYPD officers corralling women with nets, indiscriminately discharging pepper spray, and tackling protestors.

Sunday Fic Meme: "The Bones of Need"
Sep. 25th, 2011 04:39 pmEach Sunday, post six or so sentences from a writing project -- published, submitted, in progress, for your cat -- whatever. (Ganked from DW.)
Below is an excerpt from "The Bones of Need," a Torn World story about Dlameda and Kalitelm. Dlameda, in his role as the healer of Itadesh, is delivering a lecture to Kalitelm's age-set. This story is still waiting for character approval, but will eventually be submitted to the Canon Board.

"Why do we have to learn this old stuff?" Yarfi whined. "It's not important. It's not like we can still do the things that the Ancients did."
Dlameda pounced on the opportunity. "Suppose you're out hunting, Yarfi, and your age-mate Shreliv breaks his forearm. It's twisted around so that his hand almost touches his elbow," the healer said. "How many bones would you have to fix?"
