First Snow!
Nov. 30th, 2008 01:44 amIt is snowing tonight. These are the biggest snowflakes I've ever seen -- huge fat white fluffy things, some of them as big as a 50-cent piece, floating straight down without a breath of wind. The ground is sparkling with panes of ice where the crystals are wide and flat. It looks like holiday-card snow.
I'm reminded of one morning when I got out of bed, still half-asleep as usual...
Sometimes the people in my head have the strangest way of looking at the world. I love it. The amusing thing is, that morning I hadn't really noticed it was snowing yet, since it takes a while for my brain to boot up. Occasionally one of my characters will be wide-awake before I am. It makes life interesting.
Tonight, we all got to watch the snow together. It looks like the Goddess decided to shake out a whole flock of geese.

Shareem: "It's raining feathers!"
Me: "mmm ... wha?"
Shareem: "Look! Look outside. It's raining feathers."
Me: "That's snow. It's snowing."
Shareem: "It looks like a rain of feathers."
Me: "Snow is frozen water. When water gets cold enough, it does that."
Shareem: "It's beautiful. But it still looks like it's raining feathers."
Me: "I guess it does."
