 I am in awe of the jungle quilt, and must remember this style of blackwork.

It reminded me very much of a real jungle, the deep leafy greens and flowery reds, with outlined picked out in black like shadows.

What struck me was the top-to-bottom rainbow and the spotlight effect of choosing lighter hues of the colors (if that's the right word) for the center and darker ones for the edges.

Then the blackwork over that--it had to be bold and relatively simple, or the eye just wouldn't be able to pick it out, but it worked fine. Very well chosen, in my opinion.
