Today I took a few pictures in the house yard.
The rain garden has purple and white columbines blooming.

The goddess garden has the statue back. Around it are the leaves of spring bulbs, several varieties of thyme, and the 20 moss roses that I recently planted.

This moss rose is blooming hot pink.

The barrel garden is developing nicely.

The pansies and violas are in full bloom.

This planter has pink and yellow flowers. In the back are snapdragons, in the middle lantana, and in the front petunias.

This flowerpot has black-flowering petunias and black-leaved oxalis.

Ironically the oxalis has white flowers.

These double petunias form pompoms that are black in the center with frilly white edges.

Thoughts
Date: 2025-05-12 02:12 am (UTC)I don't think I've seen these before. Double petunias are less common than singles, but they're usually solid. It's that contrast edge that really makes it spectacular -- like crocheting a row or two of contrast yarn on a hyperbolic pseudosphere.

Bummer. That happened to me earlier, only it was when the boxes of dormant plants were all arriving and I got backlogged because I couldn't plant any of them. :/

I did eventually get them all planted.
