Crocuses and the first of the miniature irises bloom in the tulip bed. Tulips are also sprouting there.

The first miniature irises are blooming in the tulip bed. These are periwinkle. Most of mine range from palest aquamarine through shades of blue and lavender to a purple that is almost black. There are supposed to be some yellow one somewhere, though.

The daffodil bed has its leaves well up.

Crocuses are blooming in the goddess garden. So far they are all different shades of purple.

A fly explores these crocuses.

A honeybee pollinates these crocuses. They need flowers, especially in spring.

This is the log garden.

Yellow and white crocuses bloom in front of the log garden.

The barrel garden has tulips sprouting around the base, but nothing inside yet. So I set out a couple pots of crosne knotroots to get a little sun for a few hours.

'Purissima Blonde' tulips have leaves streaked with yellow, then they bloom white.

High overhead, the maple tree is also blooming. Its upper buds have turned fluffy.

There are two sparrows on the ground here, one toward the left and one back by the water dish.

A female house finch eats from the hopper while her mate stands guard above, and a sparrow watches from the left.

This is the tall birdbath with the rock in it, so any insects that fall in can get out.
