Birdfeeding

Today is partly sunny and mild, with a high blue sky and fluffy white clouds, a beautiful fall day. It rained off and on yesterday morning, but has now dried enough for yardwork.
I haven't fed the birds yet. I've seen a flock of house finches. I've heard a bluejay screaming but haven't seen it.
I planted 9 scilla bulbs in the wildflower garden.
EDIT 9/25/24 -- I planted 11 scilla bulbs in the forest garden.
EDIT 9/25/24 -- We started trimming grass on the street side of the savanna hedge, where I plan to put a row of daffodils later. I'll need to rake before that, too.
EDIT 9/25/24 -- I fed the birds. I've seen a pair of goldfinches, the male shifting toward drab winter colors, very persistently hugging the hopper feeder despite all the house finches and there being two thistle feeders. I did see the male try out the thistle sock, but he soon abandoned it in favor of shoving between the house finches again.
I put out water for the birds and watered a few plants.
EDIT 9/25/24 -- I raked the cut grass.
EDIT 9/25/24 -- I started planting daffodils along the street-facing strip. I have a lbag of 50 plain yellow 'Dutch Master' jonquils and a bag of 18 mixed daffodils, so I'm alternating those for variety. I'm also interspersing seeds of blue false indigo and yellow false indigo.
EDIT 9/25/24 -- I finished planting daffodils and false indigo along the part of the street-facing strip that has been trimmed. \o/
EDIT 9/25/24 -- I watered the street-facing strip.
EDIT 9/25/24 -- I did a bit of work around the patio.
As it is getting late and I'm tired, I am done for the night.
