Folks have mentioned an interest in questions and conversations that make them think. So I've decided to offer more of those. This batch features hobbies.

Doodling is a hobby of making marks on paper or other surfaces, sometimes aimless, other times with an abstract pattern or occasionally a representative image. It can be done with pencils, pens, or various other art media. This is among the cheapest of art hobbies because all you really need is a pencil or pen and some paper. If you're broke, you can look for free swag -- companies often give away writing implements and notepads -- or watch for things people have dropped and use the blank sides of printouts.

I am a huge doodler, always have been. You're right about it being cheap and easy.

I'm slowly upping my skills, and I'm pretty good at flowers and floral motifs. Not so good with people and animals, but that's okay.

It's something that people do naturally as children, until adults beat it out of them. And then whine because visual-native children can't learn well from purely text notes.

I'm lucky in that my intelligence is centered on reading- if I can read it, I can learn it. Pictures help, but aren't necessary. I was also quiet, as long as I had something to keep my hands busy. I doodled on my notes.

There are lots of tutorials available on different subject areas. You could experiment with different approaches to see if you find one that you like, if you want to expand your options. Or just keep drawing plants, which is also cool

I haven't found the right approach yet, but I'm pretty happy drawing plants ☺️.
