These are the setting notes for "A Tumultuous Privacy of Storm."


The Abdel house is a big sprawling structure that includes the main house on the right, the middle wing, and the carriage house on the left which is now the garage with an apartment above it.

The library lies to the right of the foyer with built-in bookcases, a fire place, and leather furniture. From the library you can see into the music room (to the left of the foyer) and the living room (at the back of the house).

The music room is a bright sunshine yellow with a grand piano and a fireplace.

The kitchen and living room fill part of the back of the house, done in white with blue trim. The kitchen includes a large island with a stove, a refrigerator hidden behind cabinetry, and a sink under the window.

The dining room is vivid pink. It lies behind the music room and connects with the kitchen. It has a long dining table and a windowseat in the bay window. The back wall has a china cabinet.

The living room is part of the kitchen.

The common bathroom includes a bathtub with shower, a pedestal sink, and a toilet.

Stairs go up from the foyer.

On the second floor, the master bedroom has a blue ceiling. It includes a king-size bed with antique furniture. The master bathroom has blue-and-white striped walls. It features two sinks, a toilet cubicle, and a walk-in shower.

Rida's bedroom is white with pink decorations and a bird theme. It includes a twin-size bed and matching furniture.

Nakiah's bedroom is done in navy blue and white with a celestial theme. It includes a twin-size bed and mismatched furniture.

The nursery for Hamed is done in light blue and white, with a crib and baby furniture.

The guest bedroom has a queen-size bed and a windowseat.

The common bathroom has a bathtub with shower, a corner sink, and a toilet (not visible in this picture).

Upstairs, Ulima has the guest room, which is done in pink and has a full-size bed.

The bathroom is gray and white with a toilet, a pedestal sink, and a shower that's visible in the mirror.

The garage apartment has a sitting area with a couch and a floor lamp. The kitchenette includes a sink, a refrigerator, and a stove (not visible from this angle). The bedroom is done in yellow with purple trim and has a queen-size bed. The tiny bathroom includes a toilet, a sink, and a bathtub with shower.


The back yard is mostly open space with a dense border of trees. Toward the back is a storage shed and a tiny house where Khaliq stays.

The tiny house has a living area, kitchenette, and bathroom. The kitchenette includes a stove and microwave oven. The refrigerator and sink are on the opposite wall, not visible here. The bedroom has a queen-size bed and a ceiling fan. The art studio features multiple easels and art supply carts. Grooved walls make it easy to hang paintings.

A swingset provides play space for the children near the border of flowers and trees.
