Birdfeeding

Today is cloudy, windy, cold, and wet.  It rained last night and much of today.

I fed the birds.  I haven't seen any -- no surprise -- but the hopper level was much lower so they've been at it.

Reminds me of when my family bought birdfood you could just hang in the backyard. We'd rarely see the birds ourselves, but usually something was pecked at.

Something like a brick or a suet cake is great if you don't get much traffic. In frigid weather, in a busy yard, it won't last a day. I've bought suet by the multipack. Right now, my birds are going slow. Today is frigid though.

Damn, I should've bought suet. It's like 19F outside and I don't want my little guys to freeze. They could use the fat. I haven't put it out because the weather has been mild and I've only seen sparrows and cardinals.
