We decided on this house when we moved on retirement because it had a room big enough for a purpose built library, then we discovered there were a bunch of Mennonite carpenters locally who were willing to design and build one for us. :o)
That is incredible! We also chose our house (our 1st!) because it had an extra gigantic bedroom we could turn into a library. Ours is more of a work in prog-mess, as we slowly upgrade our 13 mismatched bookcases with the white solid wood matching ones seen on this wall of the room:
