Good news includes all the things which make us happy or otherwise feel good. It can be personal or public. We never know when something wonderful will happen, and when it does, most people want to share it with someone. It's disappointing when nobody is there to appreciate it. Happily, blogging allows us to share our joys and pat each other on the back.

What good news have you had recently? Are you anticipating any more? Have you found a cute picture or a video that makes you smile? Is there anything your online friends could do to make your life a little happier?

This is not so much good news as something difficult I recently accomplished, but the results are good.

I have replaced my desk, desk chair, our kitchen table, and four dining room chairs (used in kitchen and dining room). In the process of doing this, we also got rid of several other unwanted objects, some very large, making space for farther sorting and rearrangement.

The new chair is comfortable and very adjustable. The new desk is an electronic sit-stand model, and considerably smaller than its pre-computer era predecessor. The combination is much much better ergonomically; I'm hoping this will banish, or at least sharply reduce, my tendency to episodes of backache. (I already feel better - woke up non-stiff this morning - but the current episode was already on its way out, so this doesn't prove anything.)

The dining room chairs are sturdy and aesthetically pleasing, and the old ones were overdue for replacement (= falling apart), as was the old kitchen table.

Now I just need to find something with drawers to store some of the paraphernalia that was in the drawers of the old desk, and it'll be all improvement, with no down side. (As it is, playing "hunt the stapler" and similar has already gotten old. Large plastic tubs aren't remotely convenient for this use, even though I made sure to put the frequently used items on top.)

Anxiety seems to be abating (for now), and I might have figured out something relatedly useful. Knock wood! (Plus I now have enough spoons to hang out here and chat.) ^.^

Also, a difficult relationship just managed the one step forward part of "two steps forward and one step back"...I think. I hope, anyway. Slow progress is frustrating.

Excellent idea. Thank you.

I implemented it this afternoon; the resulting set of 4 stackable 3 drawer plastic units should be delivered on Friday. I may upgrade to something more esthetically pleasing eventually - not to mention less fragile - but these will do the job for now. And the drawers are clear plastic, so I'll be able to easily see what's where.
