bitesizedreading -- Encouragement and support for anyone who loves to read
Inspired bybitesizedcleaning, this community was created to offer encouragement and support to anyone who loves to read.
Sometimes it seems like the only reading that "counts" is either weighty non-fiction or novel-length literary fiction. But those who love to read often have a diverse array of reading interests, from poetry to fanfic to newspapers to web comics.

Community Description: an annual fiction challenge with focus on a different poet every year as inspiration
Each year, there will be a featured poet, and on January 1, participants will be given a stanza or poetry fragment from the work of the featured poet as a prompt.
Participants will have 31 days to write at least 1,000 words.
[Periodically active with many posts in July.]
tolkienshortfanworks -- This is a community for very short texts from all Tolkien fandoms (word count: up to 1000 words, especially 500 words or less), such as ficlets, all types of fixed-length forms, and poetry.

Community Description: A daily poetry sharing place
[Active in September, but posts seem to be locked to members only.]
ysabetwordsmith hosts a Poetry Fishbowl on the second Tuesday of each month, with a new theme each time. Leave prompts and get a backchannel copy of a poem, or watch for poems to be sponsored.

Thank you! I will be hosting a Spooktober Prompt Call on my journal soon, and I hope to write more poetry for that.
