Today, I will tell you everything you need to know about Egyptian food."

Middle Eastern folks often buy fancy olive oil in big metal cans.

White people hummus has a sad little drizzle of olive oil on top. That's because a flat or slightly rippled top has very little ability to catch and hold toppings.

Middle Eastern hummus has a generous pool of olive oil on top. To do this properly, use a spoon to sculpt the hummus into a shallow bowl shape, then pour high-quality olive oil into the middle. Scoop up the hummus and olive oil by scraping around the inside of the rim, so you don't break the ring and let the olive oil spill out. Olive oil is good for you, and this is a great way to get plenty of it. The same bowl shape will hold other hummus toppings such as chopped salad or ground meat.

Hummus, olive oil, and wholegrain pita vary from moderate to high calories. Adding lots of olive oil makes it easy to boost calories for a meal that will stick to your ribs a long time or support high-burn activities. Choosing a different topping such as fresh vegetables leaves the calorie count much lower.
