Today's Adventures
Jul. 12th, 2022 07:40 pmWe went out to Warbler Ridge for hiking. We tried the shorter trail to the cemetery but it was blocked by a fallen tree. :/ The longer trail was more than I could handle in summer, but we did make a fair distance and saw lots of interesting wildlife. There was a chipmunk on the way in, and an indigo bunting and a goldfinch driving back out. We saw yellow coneflowers, purple coneflowers, Queen Anne's lace, frost asters, rattlesnake master, lavender beebalm, and a variety of other wildflowers. Some spring ephemerals were in the forest -- the mayapples had fruit, and there was a trillium still visible. I took lots of pictures. I don't know if I'll have time to post them, though, as I'm still writing for the fishbowl.
After that, we stopped for supper with some friends. We ate at a pavilion in the park in town. That was nice.
