This poem is also for the
sunshine_challenge and Prompt 2 bonus: Topaz. It also fills the "piercing" square in my 7-1-22 card for the Body Parts Bingo fest. It belongs to the series Arts and Crafts America. This poem is posted here as today's second freebie, crossing over with the Poetry Fishbowl on "Unusual Sensory Experiences."

"All Else Was Glass"
[July 2022]
In the temple of
the Sun Worshippers,
there was only one thing
made of genuine gems.
All else was glass,
in its many pretty colors
filling the stained windows
with blue skies and white clouds
and the assorted mythic figures.
The Sun alone was made of topaz,
its golden beams piercing the shade,
burning with beauty and truth.

Notes:
The temple's topaz Sun windows look something like this.
Some stained glass windows do incorporate semiprecious stones.

Oh, I needed this today!
