Darrow Poems 12-13-20
autumn leaves drifting
across the sky --
broken rainbows
on a blue floor
* * *
dry leaves
crinkle underfoot
tiny souls crushed flat
* * *
my face reflected
in a clear puddle
trees like a forest crown
* * *
mushrooms sprout
from a rotten log
bringing life out of death
* * *
the stag's proud antlers
nibbled by little mice
everything falls in the end
* * *
the rain in autumn
a soft kiss after
summer's fever
* * *
willow and cottonwood,
maple and sycamore,
oak and hickory --
trees climb up the hills
