These are the location notes for "On the Path of Friendship."
Endtime damage in Canada consisted more of conventional bombs, but the largest cities got hit with the Grunge too. Instead of targeting primarily combat-capable people, these attacks aimed at destroying infrastructure, especially roads, railroads, warehouses, and power plants. With travel and shipping greatly impaired, many people just froze or starved to death.
See a map of the First Nations in Alberta, Canada and a map of Alberta cities. The Kainai Nation (Blood) has the largest and closest reserve in Canada to the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana. It also has a tiny portion of timber limit land to the southwest, which is just north of the Montana border. The main reserve is adjacent to Lethbridge, a city between 10,000 and 100,000. The Piikani Nation (Piegan) has the next-closest reserve, with a small spot of timber limit land to its northwest. The Siksika Reserve is considerably farther north. It is not very far from Calgary, a city over 100,000 (heavily hit with the Grunge). While many of Calgary's refugees poured into the adjacent Tsuut'ina Reserve, others fled to Siksika which also got some from Brooks (not hit with the Grunge) and Medicine Hat (lightly hit with the Grunge). These reserves had neither the resources nor the inclination to absorb so many (mostly white) refugees, and for the most part accepted only their own urban relatives. Road 1 between Medicine Hat and Calgary, Road 3 between Medicine Hat and Lethbridge (heavily hit with the Grunge), and Road 2 through the Kainai Reserve north through Calgary to Edmonton were heavily bombed and no longer passable by vehicle.
This map shows Alberta settlements by size. The largest cities of Edmonton, Red Deer, and Calgary -- along with some of their suburbs -- got heavily hit with the Grunge in addition to conventional bombs. See a list of Alberta towns. This map shows Alberta population.
Canada has reserves; the United States has reservations. A timber limit is an extra parcel of land set aside for a Canadian tribe to harvest.
Blackfoot territory spans Canada and the United States. There are three reserves in Alberta, Canada: Siksika Nation Reserve 146, Piikani Nation Reserve 147, and Kainai Reserve 148. There is one in Montana, the Blackfeet Reservation. This map shows the Blood Indian Reserve (Kainai). See the Blackfoot Confederacy map.
Read about the Blackfeet Nation in Montana, and the Kainai Nation / Blood Tribe on Blood 148, the Piikani Nation on Piikani 147, the Siksika Nation on Siksika 146, the Tsuut'ina Nation, and the Eden Valley 216 reserve shared by the Bearspaw, Chiniki, and Wesley bands of the Nakoda (Stoney) nation in Canada.
The Blackfeet Community College offers 2-year Associate's Degrees in the Arts and Sciences. A major expansion was underway at the End.
Red Crow Community College was located on the Kainai Nation reserve in southern Alberta, Canada. It had a campus in Lethbridge, now totally destroyed. It offered Master's Degrees in several majors along with lower degrees in a wider range.
Old Sun Community College is a community college in Siksika 146, Alberta, Canada. It offers Master's Degrees and Bachelor's Degrees among others.
