Writing poetry
Date: 2021-07-03 12:31 am (UTC)Re: Writing poetry
Date: 2021-07-03 01:38 am (UTC)* Crowdfunding is MUCH faster.
* It's cheaper. I don't have to pay postage to submit things. I don't have to deal with the clunky submission sites that lazy editors now use.
* It is more lucrative. Fans have way more money to spend on poetry than poetry editors do.
* I write more, sell more, and publish more this way.
* Anyone can read the posted poems for free. They don't have to buy a magazine.
* People can ask for and get whatever they want. No guessing on my part, and they don't have to rely on some editor to like it first. So that's why I have so much stuff that's off the beaten path.
* In theory, the conventional publishing realm has a wider audience. In practice, not many people buy poetry there. But the Internet likes poetry more.
* So the only thing left is prestige. *shrug* Been there, done that, used the T-shirt to make a torch.
Crowdfunding just works better for me, and my readers.
