While doing research, I found this article about space art. Now focus on this picture from around 1968.

Date: 2021-01-10 07:17 pm (UTC)He and his wife and daughter moved to Long Island, New York, where my family lived at the time. His daughter Lael went to the same high school I did. I had two male friends who were SF fans like me, but who didn't mind that I was female. Anyway, at the time I had a standing invitation to the smaller Lunacon that was held in the NY area, and Finlay was the GOH at one, and one of the con organizers asked me if my parents were going to drive me to the con, and could the Finlays ride with us. Of course we said yes. And one of my two friends wanted to ride to the con with us too. He began chatting up Lael before we had gotten out of their driveway. (SHe was a lot better-looking than I was at 14.) I don't know what happened after that, but he eventually married someone else.
