What will be/are some of the by-products to society of everyone having the ability to take pictures or a video at any time?
One serious and growing problem is the erosion of privacy. This is greatly exacerbated by photo manipulation software that can distort what happened and wreck people's lives.
It does mean that more memorable moments are captured. This can make it easier to remember them later by looking at the pictures. However, it can also interfere with the experience as it happens.
Of course, there's also the risk of injury. Many more people nowadays are injured or killed while trying to take a picture. It used to be rare, and is now so common that people joke about it. I call Darwin Award on this one. Situational awareness is an essential survival skill.
