Birdfeeding

Today is sunny and warm.
I fed the birds.
I put up a new thistle sock to replace the one with a hole in it. These things are cheap, but I can usually get a couple years out of them before buying a new one. Sometimes, disposable is good. I used to have a really cool upside-down thistle feeder, but it clogged after a few years and I couldn't get it unclogged. So, cheap disposables are better than expensive things that last only a little longer.
We reduced cut brush to throwable size and heaved it out of the middle of the ritual meadow.
EDIT 7/2/20 -- I broke down more brush in the ritual meadow.
EDIT 7/2/20 -- We cut up more brush in the ritual meadow. Then we burned off the brush in the firepit.
EDIT 7/2/20 -- I went out to watch fireworks. There were at least 7 displays to the south of us, and 1 to the west. Previous nights all the activity has been to the west. Most of them seemed to be municipal, but the best was a backyard display not far south. That one gave a good view with plenty of sound effects. Some of the others were close enough to see colors, shapes, and motion along with a distant muffled thumping. Some were just blossoms of color. One was so far away it was nothing more than a spark of changing color on the horizon. :D
