Life is full of things which are hard or tedious or otherwise unpleasant that need doing anyhow. They help make the world go 'round, they improve skills, and they boost your sense of self-respect. But doing them still kinda sucks. It's all the more difficult to do those things when nobody appreciates it. Happily, blogging allows us to share our accomplishments and pat each other on the back.

What are some of the hard things you've done recently? What are some hard things you haven't gotten to yet, but need to do? Is there anything your online friends could do to make your hard things a little easier?

This morning was hard... Beloved had a flat tire on the way home from work [she works the 10pm to 6am shift] so she had to walk it, Which meant I had to get up and prep breakfast for her... on less than four hours sleep. Then the cats decided to be difficult and demand breakfast NOW! And it was raining so while she crashed in bed, I stayed up to get her wet things dry.. [heated drying rack works great but not everything fits on it at once and you have to turn things over etc.]

Basically, lots of little mundane chores on far too little sleep.. oh and the cherry on top of the shit sundae, google update google docs & drive and now it's being weird. Every time you update or add something to a document, it makes another copy... so I've now got half a dozen copies of the story I'm working on littering the drive.

Sounds like Google is doing version control a bit screwed up.. you might be able to adjust that in settings.

Well Monday I had my uni exam, which went ok. Causa the lockdown it was done at home instead of going in to do it. I think it went ok but I’m glad it’s done now

- Summer term started Monday. 14 weeks of work in 11 weeks. Yay. Wheeeeeee. On the plus side, one of my classes is stress, crisis, and coping..... How timely is that?!??

- trying to figure out what I'm doing after school. There's been some talk of leaving Texas ASAP but we haven't totally figured out ~where~ yet so that makes the job search tricky (and in order to practice and continue the licensure process I've gotta have a job).

- I'm also super nervous about the job thing because the only time I've ever worked in an office for pay was doing call-center work and I Did Not Like It. I keep telling myself this should be sufficiently different and it's the type of work I actually want to be doing but.... my hindbrain still insists there is a Monster at the end of this book.

I have a stress management psychology course right now, too.

May we both do well in all of our classes!

- Job hunt. Now I have more time for it. But since we are planning on trying to gtf out of the US that makes it hard.

- keeping my depression under control. Trying new journaling tools but they are still in the first week or so of use.

- trying to decide how I want to move forward with my career. I want to pivot to something flexible that I can do at home/while traveling. Working on making that decision of what to do is hard.

I'm having a hard time staying connected to this reality. All I want to do is hull up in my head. I can't even concentrate to write the prompts I've been given (QWhich is more than 2 for once in my life (And the thing is still open :d :) ) and it's something I love doing.

I know part of it might be the meds, but I just....cant seem to give a shit. Apathy is a thing, and I don't like it.

Moved out the old washer and dryer, moved in new ones. That was a few days ago. Everyone was very sore the next day.

I'm unsure if epsom salts are still a thing, but they surely do work well. :)

Everything is permissions issues and red tape.

I am salty in the extreme and need to cool it, but I can't seem to find a way there.

Paid bills, and offered paeans of gratitude to any power listening that we still had income to pay these bills.

Still taking and passing classes. I'm aiming for a finished up everything by October 1st to graduate in December. If not, it's going to be March 2021 for graduation, but it's going to be with dual majors and multiple certificates.

My wife's care is mostly hard and occasionally painful, depending on how I have to contort myself to reach things.

I got the taxes done.

We're in the middle of helping a housemate move from one of the inside bedrooms to the room over the garage -- they have different ideas of how much exposure is safe, and we are not taking any chances.

Spouse hasn't felt well since the shelter in place and was thrilled to hear Place of Worship reopened for 1/2 hour service weekend before last with everyone wearing masks and sitting 6 feet apart if non-family. That went okay until I saw him rise quickly and head to the bathroom, so I followed. He made it to the toilet without leaving a trail, good, but shit got all over the tile floor, the toilet, his hands and *at this late date I find it 35 percent funny* into the floor's a/c grille. I cleaned him up best I could with wet toilet paper and started on the floor, etc., but dayyum, not much helped. The job would take Comet and brushes and in the meantime, services ended and somebody outside the door jingled keys, wanting to close up the building. We left.

One day later came Office Lady's text: "Nobody will be allowed to use the building's bathroom, we are limiting our attendants to X number and will Spouse still be able to come?"

Phooey. Of course, the whole sitch was nasty. With all the other commotion about soiling chairs some months ago which they will not clean but declare "unusable because it's a sacred place", now this. It's one of the toughest things to handle on top of Spouse's illness. I sympathize with the cleanup crew. In this case, Spouse has the scales in his favor, IMHO, after 21 goddam years of attendance sometimes 3x weekly pre-Covid, to be accommodated.
