This poem is spillover from the April 21, 2020 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired and sponsored by Shirley Barrette. It also fills the "Vines" square in my 4-1-20 card for the Spring Fest Bingo.
"Like Vines in a Valley"
There are those who
fight like cats and dogs,
for whose eternal enmity
the proverb was named.
Then there are those who
lie side-by-side, cats and
dogs twined together
like vines in a valley.
It's nothing to do with
the flesh or the fur that
makes them either way --
only how they were raised.
