Challenge 8
Rec at least three fanworks that you didn’t create. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
You could rec your all-time favorites, your most recent finds, or maybe even create a themed rec list. However you want to go about it, just get reccing :D
For the purposes of this challenge, a fanwork is defined as any creative endeavor for a fandom. Fic, podfic, art, crafts, vids, meta... if you love it and someone else made it, share it ♥

These are some fanfics that I found last year.
AVENGERS
"Full Capacity, Incremental Intake" by Lauralot
An excellent example of how HYDRA is a bunch of sick fucks.
"If Lost, Please Return to Peter"
Neither Peter Parker nor Loki Odinson are any good at making friends, but to everyone's surprise, they manage it anyway.
"Scents and Sensibility: The Working Assassin's Guide to Supersoldier Seduction" by galwednesday, silentwalrus, skellerbvvt
Steve/Bucky Alpha/Beta/Omega fanfic in which they circle around each other briefly and then get high as a kite on each other's phermones. Adorkable hilarity ensues.
You Are Responsible for What You Tame series
Steve gives Bucky the space to recover in his own way. The other Avengers do not. This is a problem.
JURASSIC WORLD
"Pushing Boundaries" series by Macx
This AU was inspired by the first trailer for Jurassic World. It features sapient velociraptors and keepers with preternatural powers.
"Raptors in the Rainforest" series
Owen Grady discovers that the velociraptors are sapient, and he helps them escape from captivity.
STAR TREK
"a sequence that you never learned" by annataylor
Jim Kirk and Spock adopt a Vulcan boy, Sorek.
OTHER
"I've Traveled All this Way for Something" by Telesilla
Technically baseball real-person-fanfic, but since I know none of the characters, I read it as original fiction. Smokin' hot M/M consensual slavefic.
NEW CANON
A Brother's Price by Wen Spencer.
This is a romance in which the sex ration is about 1 male per 10 females, thus everyone is polyamorous by necessity. It's a lot of fun because it changes so much about society, requiring new and different plot points. I found it through a fan requesting fanwork of it.
These are some older favorites. Most of these are long.
HARRY POTTER
"And Then There Were Three" by Amy
This romance features a formal courtship involving Severus, Harry, Draco, and a bunch of other people.
"A Nick In Time" by Tira Nog
Age regression story in which Harry and Severus actually get to be happy.
"A Question of Etiquette I: Examination" by Amy
Harry is distracted during his Potions exam, and the results take several unexpected turns.
LUCIFER
"Plan L" by vericus
Plan L is always an option, but it is the last option.
"That Sinister Kid" by FearTheSpork
Chloe has a stalker. Lucifer solves the problem.
SHERLOCK HOLMES
"The Adventure of the Cardboard Box" by Akikotree
A fancomic in which Sherlock obtains an appliance, and its box, for experimental purposes.
"Gone Is My Past" by Cyerus
In which John pretends to be human.
"Observations on Sentinels and Guides in Victorian London" by RyuuzaKochou
A crossover between Sherlock Holmes and The Sentinel, this features Sherlock as the Sentinel and John as a particularly headstrong Guide, dealing with a human trafficking case.
THE SENTINEL
"Bitterwood Creek" by Arianna
This alternate universe features the Old West, with Jim as a town sheriff and Blair as a traveling doctor.
"Imperfections" by Dasha
Blair rescues Jim from an abusive Guide, his senses, and life in general.
"Thomas and the Society of Sentinels" by Alex51324
Crossing Downton Abbey with The Sentinel yields a comedy of manners with surprisingly deep personal insights.
TOLKIEN
"Amidst the Winds of Winter" by Paranoid_fridge
Bilbo faces another Fell Winter in the Shire.
Free Orcs series by Thorinsmut
In a world where Erebor never fell, some orcs fight their way to freedom, and the Ring was always going to be a problem.
"Touch" by Thorinsmut
Dwalin and Nori have an unexpected connection.
X-MEN
"The Burdens We Long to Carry" by Arcapelago (arcanewinter)
Erik finds a way for Charles to walk again, but they have to cooperate for it to work.
"A Curious Carriage of Crystal and Cold" by Etharei
This far-future X-men story reads very well as reincarnation, and features Charles/Erik again. Or always, as it's implied.
A Very Special Somepony series by Winterhill
This crossover between My Little Pony and X-Men works amazingly well. Charles and Erik are adorable as ponies, and also as gay actors.
