allbingo is a community for creative bingo. All formats, fandoms, and original work are welcome. We customarily host a fest every month, and the January theme is Less Usual Bingo Patterns. Check out our 2020 Community Calendar for upcoming fests, or claim an empty slot to run a fest of your own. Have you ever wanted to see a fest for your favorite rare pairing, small fandom, or other motif? Now is your chance!
crowdfunding helps creators and patrons of cyberfunded creativity to find each other. Many canons and collaborative fandoms now fit this business model. We are currently running the 2020 Rose & Bay Awards to recognize excellent crowdfunding projects from 2019. On the third weekend of each month, we run a Creative Jam. Anyone can give prompts or create stuff based on posted prompts. While original work is the goal, fanwork is fine too -- it's especially apt if you're doing a fanwork charity drive. We also encourage shared worlds and open-source fandoms including:
* The Blueshift Troupers is science fiction about shapeshifters who travel the galaxy in a living ship to solve problems. This open-source fandom is designed to accommodate all sex/gender, race, and ability variations along with different production budgets.
* Schrodinger's Heroes is quantum science fiction about saving the world from alternate dimensions. The main characters are diverse in sexual orientations, intelligences, religions, ethnic backgrounds, and species. One of them is a cat, and sometimes everyone gets turned into cats. This open-source fandom is designed for maximum crossover potential. Just add your favorite fandom and stir!
* Torn World is science fantasy about the dangers of temporal technology, only not the time-travel kind. This is a great fandom for unicorn lovers. Our snow-unicorns are the size of small mammoths! We also have a whole ecosystem of sea monsters and some very diverse human cultures.
* The Ursulan Cycle is genderbent Arthurian Cycle. Think about the major plot points for a minute and you'll see why changing sex/gender for most of the characters has a huge impact on what happens. Are you tired of fandoms that don't have enough women? We fixed that!
On the first Tuesday of each month, I run a Poetry Fishbowl in my blog. This is a live writing exercise where people give me prompts and I write poems based on whatever I get. Prompting is free. There are perks for reaching different donation levels. Next up will be "Short Forms" on Tuesday, January 7, which leaves the actual topic wide open. Because I always post a freebie poem in thanks for the prompts -- and a second one if I get a new prompter or donor -- I can accommodate fan prompts, hence many of the fanwork poems you can find on my AO3 page. You can see some of the results on my Serial Poetry page, of which Frankenstein's Family is a fanwork series. Some other folks have subsequently written stories in that one, so it's fanfic-of-fanfic now. Another of my series, the original superhero fantasy Polychrome Heroics, has various people writing fanfic of it across multiple formats, including
dialecticdreamer and
siliconshaman at novel length (posted in segments). Do you like the prompts I'm getting? You can use them too. MOAR GOODEEZ for everyone! \o/
dialecticdreamer hosts two prompts calls each month. Magpie Monday on the second Monday has a variable theme. Leave prompts, get ficlets! You can extend the word count by boosting the signal or various other methods. If the donation target is met, a bonus story gets posted. Feathering the Nest on the fourth Monday always focuses on nonsexual intimacies. Get your fluff here! This is a great event for folks on the asexual/aromantic spectrum. This author writes primarily gentle fiction (no sex, violence, or foul language), thus also a good bet if contemporary entertainment is too porny, too violent, and/or too vulgar for your tastes.

Date: 2020-01-06 12:50 am (UTC)I have been reccing this and other things in comments under posts where people say they want more inspiration/active comms/etc. I've found a couple new things too, and one that may help a friend, so this day's entry is very useful for me. :D
