Today was mild and mostly sunny.
Round One, I fed birds. Then I pulled weeds from the septic garden.
Round Two, I pulled weeds from the wildflower garden.
Round Three, I sprayed weedkiller on poison ivy in the prairie garden.

Maybe because my "spirit animal" plant (Spanish Broom) is considered an invasive species in a lot of places even as Celine and I are trying our best to raise one here. And I kind of relate to weeds' ability to keep on keeping on even with a total lack of support (and even active opposition) from humans, given my upbringing and all.
Now, poison ivy, that one I get. We have goatheads around here and while I respect them, they, uh, typically do not respect us. When a plant crosses the line from "is ugly" to "is actively trying to harm you," that... is still kind of a sad situation but I get that.
Well ...
