Those are some good artistic decisions, EB. I especially liked the curling frond design because it looked like unfurling fern fronds.
I keep a rock garden in a stand of oak saplings at the west fence, well some are big seashells, and painted each with the name of various young people who have either lived with us here or are Youngest's friends. Not far is an older evergreen with my and Dear Mother of Youngest's Friend's rocks and when the evergreen goes the way of all flesh, the sun will hit the stand more fully and they shall grow faster.
Thank you! My eye for color and composition are intact, it's the hand skill that's missing in action. I like crafts where I can capitalize on what still works. You can make fantastic painted rocks just by swirling several colors together.

I've used that as a doodle many times because it is organic, fractal, and very easy to draw. It's great on rocks, and you can then embellish the ends with flowers, bells, stars, or whatever.
