Good news includes all the things which make us happy or otherwise feel good. It can be personal or public. We never know when something wonderful will happen, and when it does, most people want to share it with someone. It's disappointing when nobody is there to appreciate it. Happily, blogging allows us to share our joys and pat each other on the back.
What good news have you had recently? Are you anticipating any more? Have you found a cute picture or a video that makes you smile? Is there anything your online friends could do to make your life a little happier?

If there's no permanent contract, I'll be able to start looking regularly as soon as the busy period lets up and apply for dream jobs right now- they can't be too angry if it's a one-off dream role. My savings aren't where I want them because I'm being owed money but I would like to budget more when I get it back. I'm not going to be bitter but I can't forget what's happened.
I'm sad and angry that I've had to put off university but it's until I learn how to drive. That will help me a lot. I can re-enrol as soon as I pass my practical driving test.

Just the insecurity drives people away, because humans don't deal well with long-term uncertainties. It also disrupts family ties and ruins quality of life, for example during review periods some classes of people can't leave the country without permission or they forfeit their place. It cuts them out of weddings, funerals, visits to dying relatives, meeting new babies -- all the major milestones of life that happen outside the current country, which for most immigrants is a majority of their family.
