Good news includes all the things which make us happy or otherwise feel good. It can be personal or public. We never know when something wonderful will happen, and when it does, most people want to share it with someone. It's disappointing when nobody is there to appreciate it. Happily, blogging allows us to share our joys and pat each other on the back.

What good news have you had recently? Are you anticipating any more? Have you found a cute picture or a video that makes you smile? Is there anything your online friends could do to make your life a little happier?

The first ever trip went well and I'm glad I went. I might even do an escape room in my home state.
I've made plans for the job I'm struggling in. If there's no permanent contract, I'll be able to start looking regularly as soon as the busy period lets up and apply for dream jobs right now- they can't be too angry if it's a one-off dream role. My savings aren't where I want them because I'm being owed money but I would like to budget more when I get it back. I'm not going to be bitter but I can't forget what's happened.
I'm sad and angry that I've had to put off university but it's until I learn how to drive. That will help me a lot. I can re-enrol as soon as I pass my practical driving test.

I was notified that my visa extension was granted on Tuesday. Now I can breathe easy for another 28 or so months (and then I get to go through it all again!).

Thanks. I'm an American married to a middle class Brit, and we meet all requirements and I intellectually I know that there's no reason for me to be not to be approved, but having to ask to stay with my family every 30 months turns me into a little ball of stress every time. I can only imagine the nightmare it must be for people on shakier ground than us.

(In theory, I should qualify for Indefinite Leave to Remain (think: "green card") when this one runs out. And hopefully a couple of years after that, I can apply for citizenship. And then I might sleep well at night again.)

(It may be worth noting (without getting into the lengthy bits of it), that we've already relocated countries once due to visa complications. I'm not just being paranoid.)

Yes, I'm unable to leave the country during the consideration process as well. In my privileged case, it was only 10 weeks. (But that's still long enough to cause problems.)

My oldest nibling came out as trans. I'm happy for her and also happy I can be the cool queer aunt. (The whole story is in this post: https://emeraldem.dreamwidth.org/750723.html )

I'm about to leave to visit my parents and their cats in Florida. I'll be there for a week and will get lots of sunshine to contact the lack of sunshine up here in winter!

I have excellent people, who can scoop me up when I hit the bottom and get me back on track, just with the power of their keyboards. They're here, reading this, and know who they are.

Well, maybe one of'em doesn't know exactly what they just did, but let's put it this way, I just squee'd all over them for verse-checking Frost... ;)

Exercise and body work is doing measurable good stuff.

I spotted a scam, and did not pursue it.
