:D I'm glad you appreciate it. Verisimilitude requires a bit of grit -- and a lot of variety.
I get the impression that everyone thinks people write trans characters in negative ways because they're transphobic. But what comes up if you research transgender people? Murder, prostitution, addiction, and all kinds of other mayhem because that's what is happening.
Same with Native American literature, it's full of alcoholism, poverty, and all the other blight on the reservations. It's real. But it's depressing to read only that.
We need the range of experiences.
