Smart people may have brains that are better wired to work more effectively. In other news, water is wet.
I'm still waiting for anyone else to notice that one of the options is simply not having all the human-standard factory junk in your head, thus leaving room for different stuff. I don't have a fancy social wetware. I have a linguistic coprocessor. This pleases me.

Date: 2017-11-25 06:36 pm (UTC)Finding facetime friends is hard for me too, but for different reasons. Chiefly, being smart means that my interests are different than those of almost everyone else. An average person can walk into a room of random folks and find lots of potential matches. For me, the chance is less than 1% on the mental scale alone, before even factoring in personal tastes in religion or entertainment. So it's a materials-flow problem; the density just isn't high enough for much success.
Online I do fine. I can sift through a world full of people. \o/

Date: 2017-11-26 09:21 am (UTC)The usual two-edged sword... I don't have "factory standard" junk either, and I ducked out on a lot of the societal-constraint cr@p that most people are brainwashed into downloading, due to the combination of "foo [family of origin] goo" and other environmental factors.
