I don't know if you're following the new sci-fi series "The Orville", but it tackled something like this, when a female child was born to parents of a species that are all male.. [yeah, don't get me started on how that works, or not!]
It was a surprisingly well done look at gender reassignment surgery and the ethics thereof... although, maybe not with the ending many would wish for.
