Good news includes all the things which make us happy or otherwise feel good. It can be personal or public. We never know when something wonderful will happen, and when it does, most people want to share it with someone. It's disappointing when nobody is there to appreciate it. Happily, blogging allows us to share our joys and pat each other on the back.
What good news have you had recently? Are you anticipating any more?

Date: 2017-06-14 11:25 am (UTC)Our grade at week 8 was a 71. With a quiz we'd had that same week, we'd brought it to a 73, which OK passing, but only just. )Seriously only just; you need a 73 to pass the class, we had a 73.71)
...
Yesterday we found out that we'd pulled it from that to an 85 which is a B. I about cried in relief; that was the only class I had been seriously stressing; my other two...let's just say a's are a trend with us. And had we not passed that class, that was one of the ones we'd've had to retake, so I was double happy that we don't now. *relief*

Date: 2017-06-14 01:35 pm (UTC)My problem is. I have other worlds that my people come from; and what would people think if I started writing for someone's shared one? (For which I have permission from the writer for a few things, and ideas are swirling, but nothing's been put down yet)...but I need to get past that shit. And now that school's nearly done, I might actually be able to, thank the gods. I don't think people (Present company accepted) get how seriously all-consuming school can be. >.>
But yes to the heat. And yea writing, even in short bursts
Well...

Date: 2017-06-14 01:19 pm (UTC)I'm going to take over faculty reserves and interlibrary loan at my library, which is something I wanted. My coworker, who I considered a friend, recently retired due to an illness, which makes me really sad, but he seems happy enough having some time to do retired things, even though he still struggles with his illness.
I had to assert myself strongly to take over these duties, though, which was somewhat of a surprise because I worked closely with my coworker, and I've been doing these duties since he left, and during times when he was out. People were legitimately surprised that I wanted to do this, oddly enough. At no point did I question my competence because I'm damn good at what I do, but it was a bit of a fight because they'd already set the gears in motion for recruitment. Luckily, things were stopped just in time, and I've been given the go-ahead to taken on these duties.
Yes, it's a lateral move for me, but it puts me back to doing more library-oriented things rather than the contracts writing and budgetary things I've been doing for the past few years.

Date: 2017-06-14 02:06 pm (UTC)My cat is getting treatment right now and will hopefully be better permanently.
A friend of mine is moving to my city soon, and a couple have moved here in the last few months. My brother seems much better. I got to see my sister a few weeks ago. But the really exciting thing is I decided last week to start publishing the Star Trek (2009) fic I've been working on in and off since 2011 and made very little progress on. I don't know if it when it'll be finished, but I've written probably ~2500 words since I decided that last week, and that's the most I've written on it at once in years. It's at http://archiveofourown.org/works/11100225 if anyone wants to read it.
Have I been I impatiently waiting to say that here since I put it on the Archive? Absolutely.

Yay!
Date: 2017-06-14 10:46 pm (UTC)Depending on what set off your body, you may find that some tomatoes are more tolerable than others. Frex, yellows are lower in acid, while some heirlooms have less irritants than some modern varieties. Organic anything has less pesticide residue.
Me, I'll gravitate to heirlooms if I can get them, both for health and flavor reasons. Anything in the purple/chocolate range goes great with wild game or other dark-flavored meats.

Date: 2017-06-15 05:23 am (UTC)I've kept up with my planned work hours for 12 of the last 13 days, and I get paid for about 2/3 of that work on Friday. I powered through several "adulting" tasks today; I've cleared all the critical-deadline stuff and have only a couple of items left in the "ASAP" queue.
Plans for a family reunion - the first one in four years - are firming up for next month. Due to vast improvements in various quality-of-life dimensions, I have every reason to expect that this one will be entirely enjoyable and without the edge of "fraught" that shadowed the 2013 occasion.
Last weekend's concerts went fairly well, and my Mom *was* able to attend, and said that she enjoyed it very much. I pulled off a couple of "March Hare" (last minute) costuming jury-rigs; one was just okay, and the other worked *really* well and got complements from others in the chorus.
We had our first overnight house guests, who took us out to dinner, then K and I had a fabulous "exploratory" rehearsal in which we picked our way through 14 songs in the course of 2-1/2 hours, and we got to enjoy their company for a couple of hours this morning before sending them on their way. It's been far too long since I've had the opportunity to work one-on-one with another Real Musician, and I'm still basking in the afterglow. :-)

Date: 2017-06-15 05:40 pm (UTC)About an hour ago I bought lunch, and the kid who took my money didn't try to make conversation, but said "thank you."
Then I saw a really sleek, stylish woman moving like a dancer, wearing fashionable clothes and being slim and straight-shouldered enough to look decent even in that...and she had lovely thick pale straw gray hair, the kind that used to be red, the kind we've all been told needs to be dyed, but hers wasn't. Late sixties, early seventies, I'd guess.
(I walk, and carry things on my shoulders and sometimes on my head, in hopes of maturing like that.)
