Kidney tree sounds interesting, but I have vague memories of several sorts of grasses concentrating various heavy metals.
Those might be a better fit, unless you are dealing with deep deposits (in which case, I'd be tempted to dig stuff up and spread it thin to plant the grass on).
Advantage is that you can then burn the grass (carefully) and extract the metals from the ash. They do that with some of the artificial wetland sewage treatment setups.
A tree with a tap root or at least roots that spread some at depth (rather than near the surface like most do) would work better for deeply buried stuff. Though you'd want to concentrate the metals in some part of the tree that was easy to "harvest". Leaves are a bad idea as they blow around. Pine needles would be good. Some sort of nut might be good as well. Fruits, not so much.
