Yeah, this whole day has been one big bucket of suck for him. :(
>> and yet so IMPORTANT, <<
On the bright side, this most definitely gets Turq out of Mr. Dipper's gang. That sets up two essential developments: formalizing the move in with Ansel, and talking through the legal entanglements with an adjudicator now that Turq no longer has so much pressure to keep breaking the law.
>> especially now that the action is done and others can tell him //repeatedly// that he did not "screw up" or "abandon" anyone.
That he is, in fact, courageous.<<
Sooth. Turq needs to hear all of that, repeatedly.
>> So much damage to his self-image will just take time to heal. <<
Yeah. Turq will recover eventually. It helps that his foster parents laid down some very good groundwork. What we're seeing now is subsequent damage over the top of that. The core of him is sound, if not currently stable.
>> I'd love to see follow-up care for the rescued kids, too. <<
:D I'm hoping to do more with Tacy, which would give Turq more opportunity to work as a peer counselor. The others are possible too, depending on what prompts I get.
